SD•X 200

The SD•X basic pen is an economical solution for applications requiring autonomous operation, on-board media and data storage, and communication with host systems and the Internet via a USB connection.

The pen features an optical recognition element that can detect and decode nearly invisible markings on printed media. SD•X Interactive can assist in the preparation of the marking system on virtually any printed surface. When the pen touches a marked printed page and a recognition event occurs, the pen implements programmed behavior, such as playing audio via the built-in speaker. It is also capable of capturing and storing recognition event data on a built-in storage area that can be accessed from a host such as a USB connected drive (mass storage device). Custom applications can be programmed to implement desired behavior with printed media and audio resources.

The built-in "mini" USB connection can also be used to download media content from, and exchange data with, Internet sources. The SD•X Content Management Suite includes Web-based library management services and a desktop application that enables both access to and management of media content on an available library over the Internet and on the pen itself.

The comfortable form of the pen is easy to use and contains removable battery power for up to four hours of continuous operation. An earphone jack is also provided for private listening to audio output. (Batteries and earphones not included.)
