Egmont Russia

Egmont Russia is one of the local country branches of the Egmont Group, a media corporation founded in Copenhagen in the late nineteenth century. As one of the first licensed publishing partners of Walt Disney Productions, Egmont continues to publish books, magazines, and other media against the full catalog of Disney properties. Like all Egmont companies, Egmont Russia publishes media with local popular children’s characters as well as international favorites.

A long association with Publications International made Egmont Russia aware of SD-X technology through the Poingo product line. When the company decided to launch a series of dot-enabled books, their logical choice was SD-X. To begin the creative process, Egmont sent an editorial director to the SD-X home office, where she learned to develop books that fully utilize SD-X technology and play patterns. The result is 10 highly interactive books that brilliantly apply SD-X technology to children’s media, which will launch late in 2011.

The books read themselves fluently and call out glossary words. Each book has about 50 different games including mazes, quizzes, word recognition, Yes/No, look and find, story comprehension, counting, spelling, compose and play, matching, rhyming, and story sequencing.
